What is a vCard QR code?

vCard is the standard contact-file format used by iOS, Android and every desktop address book. When the vCard text is encoded into a QR code, the phone's camera recognizes it and offers to create a new contact — no app needed.

This generator produces vCard 3.0, the version with the widest compatibility across built-in camera apps.

What to include

Name and one way to reach you are required. Company, job title, website and address are optional. Every extra field makes the QR code denser and harder to scan from a small print, so keep it to what people actually need.

If you plan to print the code at business-card size (about 2 cm), aim for fewer than 300 characters and use error correction level M or Q.

Yes. The vCard is encoded as UTF-8, which modern phones read correctly.

Does the QR code stop working if I change my number?

The code is static: the contact details are inside the image itself. If something changes, generate a new code.
